Chris is an LA-based filmmaker concerned with stories about community that challenge environmental exploitation and social inequity.
Born and raised in the foothills of the Sierras, Chris grew up in a household that was a veritable menagerie: a revolving door of foster siblings intermingled with local eccentrics - anyone from mountaineers to equestrians, evangelists to naturalists - and every conceivable variety of domesticated (and wild) animal. It was in these frenetic environs that he developed a deep appreciation for the innate dignity of every living being, human or otherwise.
As an undergraduate at U.C. Berkeley, Chris gravitated towards film as a means of expression and inquiry. But it wasn’t until pursuing his MFA in Film Production at Loyola Marymount University that he realized the medium’s utility as a conduit for civic engagement and social change.
Chris’s work has been featured on Netflix, PBS, Starz, and at numerous film festivals, including Tribeca, Newport Beach, Sidewalk, and Wild and Scenic. His most recent project, Bad Faith, explores the historical origins of Christian Nationalism in the United States. The film was voted “Best of the Fest” at Palm Springs International and won the Grand Prize for Best Documentary Feature at the Rhode Island International Film Festival.
